Of course there is a mole in the agency who is giving out information to help the bad guys stay one step ahead. Interestingly, the recoveries of these corpses did really happen.Ī team of agents, including an AP reporter, fly all over the world and end up in North Korea intent to blow up the plant that these viruses were being replicated. The CIA needs to wipe out a demented plan by a Chinese national working in North Korea who is recreating the 1918 flu pandemic with actual tissue recovered from frozen corpses left behind in Alaska during the real crisis and then use it as a biological weapon against the US. Smith and Black Rose Writing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.+++ 2.5 Okay, I've never written a book before so it's hard to say harsh things about a creator's baby. ***NOVEL THOUGHTS*** +++Thank you to Goodreads, Stephen H. It begins with an aura of mystery which dissipates as the story begins to unfold and there's a few twists and turns, enough to keep the story interesting without pointlessly complicating the narrative, and the ending nicely wraps up the subplots raised within. Specifically, an engineered strain of the 1918 Spanish Flu that has been covertly retrieved from a frozen corpse in Antarctica and mutated by an ex-Chinese scientist now living in North Korea. The Iceman Kills is a pretty relevant read in terms of what's going on in the world today, only rather than a coronavirus the book's plot involves influenza. Whilst at times I wasn't a fan of how some of the dialogue unfolded, taken as a whole I was provided this book by the publisher for reviewing purposes.
